OUR PHILOSPOHY

As passionate teachers, our aim is to deliver quality and fun activities; preparing your child for success at school and helping to make them independent life long learners.

 

Our program has been developed in line with the National Curriculum. LIVA Learning aims to provide your child with a great head start. We expose children to speaking and listening, personal learning, which includes developing resilience, learning to understand and manage their emotions and interpersonal development, which involves working cooperatively as part of a team.

 

Reading, Writing and Mathematics are the foundation of our program. Our lessons aim to build your child’s confidence via achievable goals and in turn, provide a strong understanding of the basic literacy and numeracy skills that they will encounter when they begin school.

 

LIVA Learning focuses on going back to basics through repetitive chants and rhymes, phonic awareness, articulation, letter formation, music and number games. We use THRASS (Teaching Handwriting, Reading and Spelling skills) to expose our children to the 44 phonemes of our English language. At a young age we expose children to the correct teaching practises through explicit instruction. We aim to raise the bar and do not limit our students' ability. We cater for all learning levels, as we believe that every child is unique and an individual. We use a multi sensory approach to ensure that we cater for different learning styles; Visual, Auditory, Tactile and Kinaesthetic. 

 

Every lesson is structured and routined, the expectation is high, which enables our students to take responsibility in their own learning. When a child feels that they are achieving they are more likely to become risk takers and find confidence in new unfamiliar learning environments, making them more resilient and self directed learners.

 

'Education is not the learning of facts, but the training of the mind to think' - It is the supreme heart of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. 

 

It has been proven that children learn through repetition and music plays a vital role in engaging and stimulating the brain. Repetition is a key part of learning. “The more times that you repeat patterns of thought, the more likely you will be able to recall that information” (Michael Tripper).
